Have you ever gone back to a meeting out of curiosity?
by stuckinarut2 injust wondering if anyone has gone back to a meeting out of curiosity?
(perhaps to an area far from your old khall where you know no one).
with all the changes from 2012 onwards (videos, tv screens, new meeting format, new songs etc) it would be an odd experience to be in attendance!.

"Gay sex is not porneia" started in 1947!
by ILoveTTATT2 inlook at this "gem"!.
it's from the november 1st, 1947 watchtower, p.336.
essentially, this is what started the doctrine that you couldn't divorce your spouse if he/she cheated on you with another member of the same sex.. this ended in 1972 with another wt article.

I know this to be true. Back I 1971 a sister in our congregation husband was having a gay affair. She went to the elders and ask them if she could scripturally divorce him they called the wt. for the answer. They said gay sex by your spouse is now grounds for a scriptural divorce. He was the head of the house and she has to stay with him. I was a teenager at the time and I could see this did not make sense. Still Totally ADD

Joe and Nancy my wife and I also like the Orville. The last episode of the season was very thought provoking about how religion is part of our evolution and in the future humans will evolve past it. ☺ Still Totally ADD

Shouldn't the literature carts be covered by insurance?
by Isambard Crater ini mean, they're in a public place and may get blown into someone by the wind, perhaps hurting a child.
surely because of their position, some kind of public liability insurance or similar should cover the literature carts/trolleys?
other charities like oxfam require insurance, i'm pretty sure, or a licence..

I remember years ago a householder accused a young MS of keying his car. I know for a fact this householder knew this young man didn't do it. He was just mad at them knocking on his door. So the household took him to court and I think won and the poor young MS was liable for all cost including the wt lawyers fee. If he was a elder the wt. Would have paid for it all. I am sure the wt. doesn't paid for anybody now. I bet those manning those carts may be doing it at their own risk. Still Totally ADD

Have not seen it because I don't want to pay for it. Like finallysomepride I was watching star trek from the beginning and have enjoyed them all. My wife and I have meant some of the stars. We got to spend a whole day with George T. Back in 1976 at a comic book/star trek convention. There was hardly anyone there because it was a new idea to have these type of conventions. Sorry I don't know how to spell his last name. He was very nice person, we even talk about how the first movie he said was in the works. He just kind of bum around with us all day because of the small crowd.
Here's a question has anyone gone to the star trek hotel in Vegas when it was open in the late 90's and early 200's? They had what was called the star trek experience. I went on that experience and I swear there was moments I thought I was on the real ship Enterprise. I will just wait for Discovery when it comes out on DVD's or whatever they call them now.☺☺☺ Still Totally ADD

The Constant Mindchatter After You Leave
by pale.emperor ini've been out almost 2 years now and consider myself wide awake to watchtower propaganda and well on my way to recovery from the mental abuse we've all experienced.. one thing that just will not go is that i constantly think of jwism and watchtower and get myself all annoyed at their lies and blatant twisting of facts in their broadcasts and magazines.
it's so bad that it's the first thing i think of when i wake up, then i have these mental arguments in my head proving the jw teachings false and then getting annoyed because no jw will listen even if you tried to tell them.
i call this constant thinking and mental reasoning and mental arguing "mindchatter".

Good morning Pale. I know exactly what you are talking about. These thoughts I feel is just part of the process one has to go though in a heathy way of deprogramming ourselves. Been seven years for me since leaving and there are still little things that come up in my mind or how I react to what people say or treat me. The good thing is I am now able to reason things out in my mind when this happens and I use this information to teach myself how to deal with this in the future.
I feel the education you are taking to help other cult victims is great. But taking care of your mental health is just as important. As time goes on I feel the constant mind chatter will lessen. Learn from it. It may will be a great teaching tool for your up coming profession. Have a great day and stay well. Still Totally ADD

Self Exam for your Mind: Are you really "Free" from Watchtower mentality?
by TerryWalstrom inimagine a knock at the door.who is there?it is an optometrist offering free eye exams!come in--come in.within months, you're wearing a new pair of specially prescribed glasses...and seeing things differently.____.
jehovah's witnesses wear "those" glasses.we all wore them.the lenses colored what we saw and the feedback from the governing body "explained" why things didn't look the same.
"only now--are you seeing the truth," they whisper.. _____.

WOW Terry what thought provoking questions. You must be touching some raw nerves on those questions. As a born-in I often wonder if I will ever be free from the WT mentality. I have found myself slowly changing my thinking in many areas. But as always once in a while I do quack but not as often as before. I have come to terms I will fight this thinking all the way to the grave. The prison of mind control we were in is a very powerful force to reckon with. The only good thing is being aware of this problem helps me and hopefully others to be more free of Borg thinking. Quack Quack. Thank you for this post. Still Totally ADD
